CMHA offers support groups in which people share their personal experiences in dealing with situations that have altered their life in some way. We believe that the best support groups foster peer leadership while providing information from experienced professionals who demonstrate empathy and an understanding of the challenges group members face.
Currently we have two drop-in groups. There is no fee for attending these groups which meet multiple times a month. You can see the dates of the next 10 meetings on the pages for each group.

Caregiver Connections
Many parents and caregivers may be concerned about the well-being of a person with a mental health concern (including addictions). They may have a difficult time coping and feel isolated and even fearful. With the support of trained peers with lived experience and compassionate CMHA staff, parents and caregivers will learn how to best take care of themselves, ask for help when necessary and develop skills and wellness tools.
Caregiver Connections is a safe place to gather together for shared stories, networking, education, resources, and support.
See http://reddeer.cmha.ca/programs-services/caregiver-connections/ for more information. We are now able to open attendance up to anyone caring for a person with mental health concerns (including addiction) regardless of the age of the individual you are caring for.
Currently this group meets on Tuesday evening from 5:30-7:30 PM, stat holidays and during Christmas week.
