Cardboard Stories works to challenge people’s assumptions about people experiencing homelessness by asking the participants to: “Please, write down one fact about yourself.”
The Central Florida Commission on Homelessness through its Rethink Homelessness Project originated Cardboad Stories in 2014 and kindly allowed CMHA to replicate the project in Central Alberta.
All of the participants told their stories at Safe Harbour’s Warming Centre in November 2017. The Cardboard Stories were then professionally filmed by Rene Rondeau from rdnewsNOW and combined into video shorts. Funding for the project was provided by RBC Royal Bank.
We filmed five video shorts, each of which is less than a minute in a half of length. A sixth video includes all five in one longer format. They can also be viewed on our YouTube Channel
